Cleveland Clinic Connected and Central Asian University Partnership

The partnership is being implemented within the framework of a long-term strategic agreement to establish a university hospital in Uzbekistan under the Cleveland Clinic Connected program.

Cleveland Clinic and Central Asian University (CAU) have signed a cooperation agreement to develop the Central Asian University Hospital, which will be located in Tashkent on the university’s expanded medical campus. Construction is scheduled to begin later this year.

As part of this collaboration, Central Asian University Hospital has obtained provisional membership in the Cleveland Clinic Connected program. The hospital’s management will work to complete all quality assessment stages and fulfill the necessary requirements to gain full membership status.

Cleveland Clinic’s Areas of Support

Cleveland Clinic, one of the most respected medical centers in the U.S. and worldwide, will support CAU in the following areas under the strategic agreement:

  • Designing and managing the medical facility
  • Development and validation of educational programs and residencies
  • Establishment of a nursing school and simulation center
  • Organizing clinical internships, lectures, and scientific exchanges
  • Recruitment of doctors, supply chain management, and digital transformation
  • Providing CAU hospital doctors access to educational consultations for complex clinical cases
  • Ensuring effective performance of the clinic’s specialists and building a sustainable professional team

Central Asian University Hospital Project

At the initial stage, the Central Asian University Hospital will be designed from the ground up based on the Cleveland Clinic model, integrating multidisciplinary departments, clinical centers, and state-of-the-art medical technologies.

The new hospital will feature 120 beds and have the capacity to serve up to 269,000 patients annually, making it one of the most advanced and efficient clinical centers in Uzbekistan.
