On September 13, an event of significant importance for the healthcare sector of Uzbekistan took place at AKFA Medline University Hospital. Central Asian University and the AKFA Medline University Clinic held their first-ever Residency Orientation Day, while simultaneously presenting the country’s first robotic surgical system, the EDGE MP1000.

For young doctors, this day marked the beginning of their residency — an introduction to the clinical base, mentors, and modern educational practices. The residents received their first ID cards and also shared their visions of future medical technologies they aspire to implement, creating a symbolic “Physician’s Journey Capsule.”

As part of the event, guests witnessed a unique occurrence for Uzbekistan — a live broadcast of a surgical operation performed using the EDGE MP1000. The robotic system was tested in real time: its precision and capabilities were demonstrated during an actual surgical procedure, clearly confirming its effectiveness.

Both milestones — the launch of the residency program and the introduction of advanced technologies — reflect the shared path chosen by CAU and AKFA Medline: training a new generation of doctors and creating the conditions for applying the world’s medical advancements.
We congratulate our first residents! This day symbolizes your determination, responsibility, and commitment to moving forward and elevating medicine to a new level. We are proud of you and confident that each of you will become part of a great success story.
